Les Hartman Tapped As Wahl Walkabout Tour Emcee

He spent seven years traveling around the country announcing rodeos for a living so the dirt under his boots is a comfortable feeling for Les Hartman.  A call from an old high school friend, and neighbor, would be the opportunity to take his talents on the road as the announcer, or "Tour Emcee" for Clinton Anderson's Wahl Walkabout Tour 2009.  The tour has 15 stops in 2009 and will hit another 10 cities across the United States in 2010.

"When the call first came from Rick, I thought it was something I would like to do, but didn't make a decision right away.  I talked with Glenda about it and I talked with my boss about it.  They were both extremely supportive of the opportunity so I talked with Leah (The Roping Show) because I didn't want to cross any lines since Clinton and Tyler are on the same TV Network...she was fine with it and here I am."

While he certainly enjoys talking, entertaining and being in front of a crowd, that's not all that excites him on the Wahl Walkabout Tour.  "I know this sounds crazy, but it's kinda goin' hand in hand with the radio shows I used to do because we try to make every tour stop entertaining and humorous.  I have opened the lid on my "vault" of sound effects that I have collected through the years.  I get a big kick out of finding places to put those things...finding ways to get a big chuckle out of the crowd.  You know how I am, I want folks that come to have a good time and be entertained."
