Les;
  Great song, thanks for the opportunity of hearing it. You've got a great gift, and a wonderful voice!  I want to tell you my friend, I have for the first time in a long time gotten goose bumps from hearing a song. It wasn't just the words, but your interpretation. You have nowhere to go but up. I am anxious to hear more from you. Keep up the great work!

Take care & Peace.....
Rikk

Dear Les,
I was just forwarded your [song] by my nephew who works at LSSS.  Your recording of Their Child is wonderful.  Not only are you a talented vocalist you are also a truly gifted writer.  You see, I too have an adopted son and your words touched my heart more than you will ever know. We were blessed to have him placed in our home when he was 3 days old.  He is now 12 yrs. old.  He has brought such joy to our life and I pray that like you he will always know that he is "our child." Thank you again for sharing and best of luck as you pursue your dreams...Susan

Mr. Hartman,
 I currently work for Lutheran Social Services in the Victoria office.  I just wanted to say that I think your song is very beautiful and I cried when I heard it.  Your letter was a personal inspiration to me because my husband and I would like to adopt.  I am unable to have children and have dreamed of having children for many years.  I have always been somewhat concerned about a child accepting me as their mother if I adopted them.  I have recently accepted a position outside of Lutheran Social Services to work with the elderly and will now have the opportunity to look at adopting with the agency.  I can't wait until that day.  Thank you for the inspiring song.

Hi Les!
I work for LSSS out here in El Paso and I just listened to your song, "Their Child."  What a FANDAMTASTIC song!  I just attended a conference on adoption, and we're doing more of them out here. You are definitely gifted and have a message that brought tears to all of our eyes!  God Bless you Les!

Hi Les -

My name is Gerrianne.  I just finished listening to the beautiful song "Their Child" and it brought tears to my eyes.  You see, I am a birth mom and 16 years ago I made an adoption plan for my son.  I took that song to heart.  It is absolutely beautiful.  When I saw my son after he was born and in the arms of his parents the words I spoke to them were, "I do not feel he is my child any more.  He is your child".  That song is so true. I am sure that this song will become a very popular song for many people.  I will pray that it does.  It is absolutely beautiful.  I am sure your parents are very proud of you. You are truly blessed.

God Bless;
Gerrianne

Dear Les,

As a club owner, you know that I think you are an amazing entertainer, musician and writer. But, "Their Child" touched me in a way that it may not touch others. As you know, in addition to owning [the club], I work for a foster placement agency where, on a daily basis, we deal with severely abused, neglected, therapeutic children.  It is so very hard to find good, Christian homes for these children because people don't want a teen-ager, much less one with problems.  At Lighthouse Family Network we believe it has to be a calling from God.

In "Their Child" you managed to say to potential foster or adoptive parents that they can make a difference in a child's life, AND to that foster or adoptive child (who is just trying to live with what life has dealt them) that no matter what their life has been like, love can make a difference and they, too, can dream and work to make it come true.  You are an inspiration, Les, and I am so proud to know you!

I wish you all the success in the world.  God has placed his hand on you, Les, and you are passing it on to others!  Thank you!

Linda
